2nd Training - 82 km 1 1/2 Days Walk

On 25 April Joy dropped Paul at 6 am at Brookton Highway.  Here is a photo of a happy man just before he headed off.
Yes I have my GPS with me!

This time, Paul has purchased a GPS and he was very proud to carry it on his shoulder!

Joy travelled to meet up with Garry and Beth who have just come on board to support Paul on his walk.  They live in their motor home in their big blue bus which they have named 'On Eagles Wings', which we will use as our BT1000 Camping Bus!  Together we drove to North Banister to set camp.

At noon, we met up with Paul mid-way at Sullivan Rock to see how he has been going.  He was good and said he will continue to finish the journey.
While waiting at the Sullivan Rock, Joy met her previous GP, Dr. Sally from Parmelia Medical Centre who was also walking with her husband that day, and she encouraged Joy to do the walk too.

Night Walk Using a Headl
That day, Paul covered 67 km in 16.5 hours at about 4km per hour.  His knees started to hurt at the 27km mark and needed a pain killer for the last 20 kms in the dark. Paul finally arrived at 10.30 pm that night with lots of pain in his knees.

The next day 26 April, Paul decided to do a 15 km stroll instead toward Boonerang Hill and his knees killed from the beginning.

 Paul's Outback 47th Birthday

When Paul returned that afternoon, we had lunch and also celebrated Paul's 47th birthday out in the bush!  He was all smiles and next to him were Garry and Beth!

Before we packed away, the 4 of us took some pictures of our BT Camping bus!
Beth's yummy Pavlova Cake

We returned to Pinjarra that evening where Gary and Beth lives in their bus and Beth brought out her surprised home made pavlova for the birthday boy!  Celebration continued till late into the night!
We finally arrived back in Perth at 12 midnight.  We definitely had lots of fun that day!
